Chiara (she/her) is an evolutionary behavioural ecologist who works with aquatic organisms (mainly fish and crustaceans). She is convinced that understanding behaviours and reproductive strategies is fundamental in any program of conservation and management of biodiversity, as well as the interaction of animals with local communities. Nicola is a Reader in Primate Behaviour and departmental EDI Coordinator at Liverpool John Moores University where she set up and chairs the university decolonising the curriculum working group. She works as an ally, advocate and activist to increase diversity, equity and inclusion in science. After a PhD on conflict management in Japanese macaques, her research interests have broadened from social stability in macaques and chimpanzees to include behavioural ecology and anthropogenic disturbance in vervet monkeys, samango monkeys, crested macaques and savannah elephants. Alan graduated with a BSc in Zoology from University College Cork (Ireland), and a PhD in Zoology from University College Dublin. His research group has carried out animal behaviour and welfare research over the years on a range of species, from fallow deer to cattle, goats and even kangaroos. Claudia (she/her) is an Associate Professor in Behavioural Biology at Anglia Ruskin University. Her research focusses on physiological and cognitive mechanisms of social behaviour in birds, for example corvids. Claudia teaches animal behaviour on undergraduate and postgraduate level and is passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion in higher education. She chair’s the Athena SWAN self-assessment team of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Anglia Ruskin University and sits on the faculty race equality committee.

Cedric is a PhD student in evolutionary ecology focusing on the emergence of eusociality in termites at the Freie Universität, Berlin. He has a MSc degree in Functional, Behavioural and Evolutionary Ecology and an Engineering degree in Life Sciences. He is member of ASAB and its French counterpart, SFECA, since 2017. He has previously carried out a wide diversity of internships in evolutionary ecology at the University of St-Andrews on insect sexual selection and Lund University on the cost of flight in bats and on the genetic basis of skin pigmentation in lizards. He has joined the EDIA committee in August 2022

Barbara (she/her) is a behavioural ecologist interested in how a species’ ecology and social structure shape its natural behavioural repertoire, particularly its foraging ecology. Her work focuses on large-brained, long-lived bird species – corvids and parrots- and investigates tool use behaviour, foraging traditions and vocal convergence. Barbara is currently a Postdoc at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behaviour in Germany but will set up her own research group next year at the University of Vienna, Austria. Amy (she/her) is a behavioural ecologist who combines field work, genetics and bioacoustics to address evolutionary questions. Her research focuses on cooperation and reproductive strategies in vertebrates. She is a lecturer in Zoology at the University of Salford. Twitter ID: @AmyLeedale

Lucy (she/her) has a BA in Experimental Psychology and an MSc in Human Biology from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in comparative psychology/behaivoural ecology from the University of St Andrews. She in interested in the cognition, behaviour, and conservation of social mammals, mostly now working with savannah elephants. She joined the University of Portsmouth in 2022, and greatly values working in open, collaborative, diverse networks.
